Magnesium prices have been slowly increasing in the last three years. From 1.05$/lb in 2009, it has increased up to 1.51 $/lb in the last year. This year the price has decreased a little bit, at an approximate price of 1.43 $/lb. Different from other metals, there is less movement or price shifts in the magnesium market.
Price change is large if compared to previous years, but monthly trends are quite steady, which is probably related to the fact that the demand has not changed much, either. In short, in the global market for magnesium prices there are fewer surprises than for other metals.
